Confession: Sometimes I love my iPhone so much I feel like I’m cheating on my old Blackberrys.
However, the day I got this little treasure I was introduced to something that has revolutionized my vocabulary-Words With Friends (mostly because I have to look up all the words David and Ward play). Now I have played countless games with the boys. Unfortunately, I have not beat either of them once. But times are changing my friends!!!
THIS IS PROOF!! I’m beating David by almost 100 points and I’m only two points away from taking the lead against Ward!
Anyway- If you are a Words With Friends player, let me know! I’d love to attempt to beat you as well :)
I went to Indiana a couple weekends ago and promised more pictures! I went with my parents visit my cousins and see one of them get married! The first picture is of my parents and I at the reception! Weddings are very different in the North and we were having a great time!
Next there is a picture of Twiggies! My Uncle Art (Grandpa’s brother) worked there when he lived in Terre Haute. They were known for their fried chicken. It was cooked in a skillet and each order took 45 minutes to cook!
Lastly, Indiana was covered in snow while we were there! In fact, even more came down while we were there! Being from Georgia, we were shocked to see that life as usual went on with all the snow on the ground! Our plane even landed on ice! My cousins own horses and here is a picture of two of them! They are beautiful!
Overall, we had a great weekend! I hadn’t been to Indiana in many many years, so it was wonderful to catch up with family!!
After many suggestions, I starting watching Vampire Diaries. I know, I know, vampires seems silly right? Well that’s where I was wrong….
I LOVE Vampire Diaries!
So now I look forward to Thursday night primetime television as well! If you are a Vampire Diaries fan, you are probably wondering why I posted a picture of Elena and Damon.
Warning: I’m about to make a bold statement.
I want Elena and Damon to end up together. Especially after learning more about the Salvadors past.
Anyway- Now that I’m a total geek, I’m suggesting to you to become a fan!

First of all, I love Britney.
Second of all, this is an amazing cover of her new song!

Another post in honor of David!
Senior year of college I was obsessed with House (and still am)!!! The day after David and I had the initial conversation that would no longer makes us friends any more (but bf/gf!), he came over and we watched a House marathon all day. I think it was mostly because we both knew there was going to have to be another conversation, but we were nervous. So we just sat and watch hours of House. It was a great day. Every time that I see House on tv I watch it or let it play in the background. It will forever remind me of David and the days and countless hours he has watched House with me.
In honor of my man’s birthday, I thought I would share some photos from the beginnings of our relationship with you!
When we first met we became instant friends. David and I were best friends for about two years before we started dating! Because of that friendship, it has made a relationship really special. I will never forget our first date. Unlike a typical first date, we already knew everything there was to know about each other! We left for the mountains early in the morning and spent the day outside hiking and admiring God’s creation. Knowing me very well, David had brought along Subway sandwiches for us to have lunch on top of the mountain. It was so special. That evening we stopped for BBQ on our way home, another favorite!
David works for the governor now, YAY! He’s doing an amazing job and I know that he is going great places! I love him so much!
Happy 24th Birthday David!!!
I made this video with my cousins one day! They are hilarious! I hope you enjoy!
My friend Alana’s blog constantly inspires me to be creative! Most recently, she posted about a necklace she had made. I instantly knew I wanted to try it too! It’s called the PomPom necklace! Since I had cut out some extra circles, I made a matching hair barrette too!
Alana’s blog is full of recipes, crafts, and cute stories about her life in campus ministry at Alabama. Check her out!
I arrived in Terre Haute, Indiana today for my cousin Ethan’s wedding weekend! It has been an amazing trip so far!
We flew in this morning to find several inches of snow on the ground and subzero temperatures. I haven’t been so cold in a long time! Needless to say, I brought four coats/jackets with me!
We jumped in our all wheel drive Nissan Rogue and made our way to Terre Haute. Here few things you should know: a) Terre Haute is home to Indiana State University, my grandfather’s side of the family (lots of family history here) and Clabber Girl.
Now you are asking, what is Clabber Girl? Well, for those of you in my generation, it was a brand of baking powder. Now, there is a delicious cafe and interesting museum to detail it’s history! There menu is full of yummy desserts, sandwiches on pretzel bread, and different styles of ketchup! I bought a small can-only 99 cents!-to bring home!
After eating lunch and checking into our hotel, we ventured out to my cousins house. Everything including his pond is snowed and iced over!
We finished our evening off with an interesting dinner with some of our cousins! More to come on that later!!
Having a great time! More pictures to come!! Especially of the snow!
Dear Google,
I absolutely love today’s Google picture. Very creative and inspiring.
Love,
Courtney
I’m going to see TAYLOR SWIFT in July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My parents got me two tickets for my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My birthday was yesterday! I’m 24 now! I wish I had taken some pictures to share with you, but all I have are a few from my phone!
Sunday night after working at the mart with my mama, we met my dad and went to Pappasito’s for supper! It was so fun! We sat right in front of the man who was making the tortillas by hand! Yum! When our food arrived to the table it was hanging on a rod! This picture is the waiter taking it down for us to eat! The next picture is of the my reaction to the waitstaff singing happy birthday to me! If you can’t tell, I’m wearing a sombrero in the picture!
On Monday, I worked a half day at the mart and then spent a couple hours wondering around the cash and carry section (and treated myself to a couple birthday gifts!) I came back to Athens and David took me to Last Resort! It was soooo good!! The waitress found out it was my birthday and brought out a piece of strawberry cake with a candle on it! It was so fun!
However, yesterday was my actual birthday! It was great! I got to sleep in, relax, run some errands, and did I say, relax? It was perfect and low key! I hung out with Sophie and David. We watched episodes of Wipeout, Wizards of Waverly Place, and tv movies.
Thank you to everyone who made my birthday special! I love you all! I got some awesome presents too, but one of them deserves its own blog—so I will leave you hanging in suspense!
SNOW DAYS!!! I’ve been playing in the snow with Charley and my dad! Due to the 1/4 inch of ice on top of all the snow, it wasn’t easy to build a snow man or walk around! But we still had fun!
Last night we made “snow cream.” We scooped up four cups of snow and mixed in the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup sugar (we used Splenda!)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup skim milk
It was really cold, but a nice snow day treat!
David braved the roads to get here from having been stuck in Atlanta for the inauguration! As soon as he got here we sat down to play Bananagrams and got caught up on Modern Family! We love it! My dad cooked a roast, potatoes, lima beans, and cranberries for supper- YUM! And later we had peach cobbler and coffee.
We have finished the night off by playing Sequence by the fire and watching Parenthood! It has been a fun and restful few days! Can’t wait to start working at the Atlanta Mart with my mama tomorrow!! Should be an exciting week!
