It’s been awhile since I have posted to my blog.  It seems like life has been going fifty miles an hour faster than usual and I’ve just been incredibly busy.  However, neglect no more!  I’m back and excited about January!  Now that I am fully rested, I’m pumped about a new semester, new students, wedding planning, and 2012 in general!

I randomly came across www.31daysofadventure.com.  31 Days of Adventure is a run by a couple girls who challenge you daily, throughout the month of January to do something adventurous or look at things from a new perspective.  If you would like to participate… it’s not too late!  Just visit the site and sign up for your e-mail a day!

I will post here (every day of 31 days) about the adventures this group takes me on.  For today, I will be showing you a photo of something familiar, but taken from a new angle or different perspective.

I present you David.  He is familiar because I see and talk to him all the time.  However, I thought this was an interesting perspective to view him through.  Because of technology, we can see each other more frequently!  Although we live in the same city, his being in law school and my teaching in the opposite direction makes things difficult.  I like this photo because it presents someone and something I am familiar with in a different light.

I have loved having some of my friends from college back living back in town this year.  Especially because I can hang out with them at the end of our long work days and just relax!  From going to dinner, to taking walks, watching our tv shows and wondering around the dollar store I have really enjoyed this new school year far more!

Tonight we went to Agua Linda, a mexican restaurant in Athens.  We shared lots of Diet Coke, laughter, and our desires to be back in college.  I love my friends so much!  I wish I could be around them all them time!

But for now, it makes the end of a long work day so much better and that blesses me so much.

So I used to claim I don’t eat seafood. Well, times are changing my friends! Now I eat TWO things!

1. Peel and eat shrimp
2. OYSTERS!

When David and I started dating we found this little gem in Athens, Square One! It’s downtown. By the Classic Center and sooooo yummy! Now we only go there on special occasions and months that end with R! Oysters are in season now and we made the most of it last weekend.

It has been quite the week and I’m already exhausted! However, I am extremely proud of myself for fending off a cold with tons of vitamin C!

While I’m waiting for David to finish putting his groceries away I came across this small clear box. Now, I’ve always known David was a big fan of the lapel pin on the jacket, but honestly I’ve only seen him wear a few different ones.

Well as I started looking through all of the buttons, I realized he had so many different ones from major things he has done in his life. They are all pretty cool! While I don’t know where they all came from, it’s a pretty neat collection e’s started here!

Tonight David has taken me to “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band concert! We are really excited to see them preform!

It’s a nice refresher to go in a date in the middle of the week. We are really enjoying ourselves—and trying to put work and school out of mind for the evening!

I got a little surprise in my mailbox today. School pictures. I’m not sure I remember a time I didn’t want retakes in high school. So this surprise was really exciting for me. Now what to do with these?
